Every .htaccess rule later in this chapter runs inside a structure the main configuration builds: a virtual host chosen for the request, sections merged in a fixed order, and loaded modules that decide which directives exist at all. The examples run on a test instance on port 8101, beside the default site; production uses port 80 (and 443, TLS, PHP and Performance).
