On X, "Embed post" or the oEmbed endpoint publish.x.com/oembed returns a <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"> that platform.x.com/widgets.js upgrades into an iframe. LinkedIn's "Embed this post" copies code for any post visible to Anyone. Widget scripts contact the network on every page load; for plain sharing, a link or navigator.share() sends nothing until the visitor clicks.
