Thrift and Zero-Copy Formats

Thrift, FlatBuffers and Cap'n Proto

Three more schema-first formats turn up in data platforms: Apache Thrift 129 (Facebook, 2007; Apache 2.0; 0.25.0 of 30 September 2026), built around RPC, and FlatBuffers (Google, 2014; Apache 2.0; 25.12.19) and Cap'n Proto 686,504 (2013; MIT; 1.5.0), built around reading data without decoding it. Each encodes order 1 below, with camelCase fields and integer cents from order1.py.
