The AWS 24 Serverless Application Model is two things: the AWS::Serverless-2016-10-31 transform of SAM's Transform, and the SAM CLI 6,733 (github.com/aws/aws-sam-cli (https://github.com/aws/aws-sam-cli 6,733 ), Apache 2.0, 1.166.2 here, installed with pipx 21,050 install aws-sam-cli), which builds, deploys and runs serverless code on your machine. This section rebuilds BookNest's catalog API, GET /books and GET /books/{id}, as a SAM 24 application in the repository's sam/ directory.
