Lambda and Kappa Architectures

When a business wants both complete historical results and up-to-the-second ones, it needs an architecture that combines batch and streaming. Two named patterns frame the debate: Lambda, which runs both side by side, and Kappa, which uses streaming alone. Their names come up in design reviews and interviews, so you should be able to draw both.
