Every tab, popup and <iframe> has its own window object. It is the global object for the document's scripts, so its members work without the window. prefix: alert() is window.alert(). It also describes the surroundings of the page: the address, the session history, the frame tree and the rendering loop. Members such as fetch(), crypto and navigator belong to the Web APIs of Web APIs.
