Cloud9 and CodeCatalyst

Most AWS 24 tutorials still begin with "open the Cloud9 24 console". You cannot. AWS closed Cloud9 to new customers on 25 July 2024, and its user guide opens with the notice: "AWS Cloud9 is no longer available to new customers. Existing customers of AWS Cloud9 can continue to use the service as normal." Only the marketing page still reads as if you could sign up; existing users should follow AWS's migration guide to the IDE Toolkits and CloudShell 24 . Amazon CodeCatalyst 274,818 , offered by some write-ups as the replacement, closed to new customers on 7 November 2025; AWS points build and release work to CodeBuild 24 , CodePipeline 24 , CodeDeploy 24 and CodeArtifact 24 .
