Bounce Rate
A bounce rate is the proportion of visitors who navigate off of the site after viewing only one page, typically expressed as a percentage.
Not everyone in the SEO field agrees that the bounce rate matters, but a recent study by SEMRush found a correlation between the bounce rate and Google rankings.
“Pogosticking” is a special type of bounce. In this case, the user clicks on the other search results. Results that people Pogostick from may get a significant ranking drop.
Google pays very close attention to “dwell time“ -- how long people spend on your page after coming from a Google search. This is also sometimes referred to as “long clicks vs short clicks”.
