Having a keyword in your domain name, especially at the start of the name,still helps today. Moz's expert panel agrees that subdomain names matter too. Exact Match Domains (EMDs) may still give you a slight advantage, but the Google EMD Update has substantially prevented many from getting a free lunch with an EMD.
