Buffers and VAOs

Buffers, Vertex Array Objects and Drawing Modes

Real geometry arrives as thousands of vertices. They travel to the GPU as typed arrays in buffers, are shared through index buffers and described once in vertex array objects; the drawing mode, viewport and scissor box then decide how they become fragments on the canvas.
