Apache Kafka and Managed Cloud Kafka moves BookNest's order events onto Apache Kafka 129 and covers what streaming then requires: partitions and consumer offsets (6.7), exactly-once delivery and processing (6.6), and stateful windows and joins in Kafka Streams 129 (6.10) and Apache Flink 129 (6.11). In Spark 129 the change from this listing is small: spark.readStream.format("kafka") with kafka.bootstrap.servers and subscribe options (from the spark-sql-kafka-0-10 package) replaces the file source, and the rest of the query stays the same. Spark 4.1 also added a real-time mode that processes stateless queries continuously, with latency in single- digit milliseconds instead of micro-batch intervals.
