A path expression is a series of steps separated by /, each selecting nodes relative to those the previous step found. A leading / starts at the document node; otherwise a path is relative to the context item, .. Abbreviations cover most paths: // (any depth), .. (parent), @id (attribute), * (any element), *:title (any namespace) and [...] (filter). Paths return nodes in document order without duplicates.
