Two W3C extensions turn XQuery into the language of an XML database: XQuery and XPath Full Text 3.0 (Recommendation, November 2015) for linguistic search, and the XQuery Update Facility (XQUF 1.0, Recommendation, March 2011; its 3.0 revision ended as a Working Group Note in 2017) for changing documents. Saxon-HE 726,956 has neither (Saxon-EE has Update only), so this section uses BaseX 12.4 693,830 , which implements both.
