The MinIO Console and the mc Client

Since the May 2025 change (MinIO's Licensing Upheaval), the console on port 31901 is an object browser only: buckets, prefixes, uploads and version rewind, with no user, policy or monitoring screens.

Administration moved to mc, whose commands mirror Unix tools (ls, cp, rm, cat, find, du, tree, mirror) plus mc admin for the server; it works against any S3 endpoint through aliases such as lake:

Access permission for `lake/booknest-demo` is `private`

Every mc command also takes --json for scripts, and mc mirror --watch <dir> lake/<bucket> keeps a bucket in sync with a local folder.
