Apicurio Registry as an Open-Source Alternative

Apicurio Registry (https://github.com/Apicurio/apicurio-registry 940 ) (Apache 2.0, 3.3.3 of 8 Sep 2026) stores Avro 129 , Protobuf, JSON Schema, OpenAPI and AsyncAPI artifacts in a SQL database, a Kafka 129 topic or memory, and also serves the Confluent 17,245 API under /apis/ccompat/v7, so Confluent's serializers work unchanged. The apicurio profile runs it on port 33082 in memory.
