Running Confluent Schema Registry

Confluent 17,245 Schema Registry is the reference implementation; most tools speak its REST API. Schemas live in the compacted topic _schemas, read by every instance and written by one elected leader. compose/registry.yaml runs cp-schema-registry:8.3.2 as l3-schema-registry on port 33081:

The server is under the Confluent Community License: free to use, modify and redistribute, but not to offer as a competing hosted service. The clients, serializers and Connect converters are Apache 2.0.
