First Containers

With Engine installed, put it to work on the part of BookNest that needs no code of your own: its PostgreSQL 1,289 database. This section walks through the classic first Docker 514 session, pull, run, list, read logs, step inside, stop and remove, with the postgres:18 image that BookNest's docker-compose.yml names. docker run, docker ps and docker logs are short aliases for docker container run, docker container ls and docker container logs. As in How Linux Isolates, container names carry an l3- prefix to keep them apart from other projects on the same daemon.
