Bitbucket 2,046 is Atlassian's Git 1,932 host, and its case rests on Jira 619 : branches, commits, pull requests and deployments link to Jira issues without an app. Its CI service, Bitbucket Pipelines 619 , reads one bitbucket-pipelines.yml and runs each step in a Docker 514 image you name.
Bitbucket Cloud is the cheapest paid plan here. Free covers 5 users, 50 build minutes a month and 1 GB of Git LFS 127,865 storage; Standard costs $3.65 a user with 2,500 minutes and 5 GB; Premium costs $7.25 a user with 3,500 minutes, 10 GB, and adds enforced merge checks, IP allowlisting, deployment permissions and required two-step verification. Extra minutes cost $10 per 1,000. Self-hosting has narrowed: Bitbucket Server lost support in February 2024, Atlassian stopped selling Data Center to new customers on 30 March 2026, and Data Center licenses end on 28 March 2029, although a new Bitbucket license covering both Data Center and Cloud lets existing sites keep running. Choose Bitbucket when your company already lives in Jira; for open source it is a poor fit.
