A container's filesystem disappears with the container, so the throwaway database of API Pod Spec loses its books whenever its Pod goes. Kubernetes 5,150 layers storage: volumes that Pods mount, PersistentVolumes that outlive Pods, claims that request them and StorageClasses that create them on demand.
