Use flex when content in one direction sizes the layout (toolbars, tag lists) and grid when tracks in two dimensions size the content (galleries, dashboards). Both switch at breakpoints, as in flex flex-col md:flex-row or grid sm:grid-cols-2 lg:grid-cols-4.
