BookNest refreshes its catalog only while the catalog screen is open. Picking up new prices overnight, and retrying when the network returns, is the job of WorkManager 234 (androidx.work 2.12.0, 23 September 2026), the Jetpack 234 library for work that must run even after the user leaves the app or the device restarts.
