Not everything belongs in a database. A theme choice or the time of the last sync is a handful of values that the app reads at startup and changes rarely. Jetpack 234 DataStore 234 (androidx.datastore 1.2.1) stores such data in a small file and exposes it as a Flow, in two flavors: Preferences DataStore for key-value pairs, and a typed DataStore for one immutable object.
