App Store Submission

Archiving and Submitting to the App Store (Not Run Here)

iOS publishing needs a Mac and the Apple Developer Program (US$99 a year), so these steps come from Apple's and Capacitor 243,123 's documentation and were not run here. Since 28 April 2026 uploads must come from Xcode 26 10 .

  1. In App Store Connect 10 , register the bundle ID (appId) and create the app record.

  2. In Xcode's Signing & Capabilities, pick your team and add Associated Domains (iOS Universal Links) and Push Notifications if used.

  3. Set MARKETING_VERSION and raise CURRENT_PROJECT_VERSION (Versions and App IDs).

  4. Add a PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest, required since 1 May 2024 for apps using APIs such as the UserDefaults behind @capacitor/preferences.

  5. Choose Product > Archive, then Distribute App > App Store Connect in the Organizer.

  6. Test in TestFlight 10 , complete the listing, and submit for App Review.

A macOS CI runner does step 5 from the command line:

Building a signed IPA with the Capacitor CLI on a Mac (not run here)Shell
npm run build && npx cap sync ios
npx cap build ios --xcode-team-id ABCDE12345 --xcode-export-method app-store-connect

In @capacitor/cli 8.5.2 this runs xcodebuild archive and -exportArchive, leaving the IPA in ios/App/output/ for Apple's Transporter app to upload.
