Many tutorials still assume Ionic Appflow 53,110 , Ionic 20,753 's paid cloud for native builds, live deploys and store publishing. On 11 February 2025 Ionic stopped selling its commercial products and set their end of life for 31 December 2027; Appflow takes no new apps or plan changes from 1 October 2026. On 22 September 2026 Ionic named Capawesome 178,914 the official migration partner:
| Ionic product | Capawesome replacement |
|---|---|
| Appflow (live updates, native builds, store publishing, automations) | Capawesome Cloud |
| Auth Connect | OAuth plugin |
| Identity Vault | Vault plugin |
| Secure Storage | SQLite 4,756 and Secure Preferences plugins (Secure Storage) |
| Ionic Portals | Ionic Live Update Provider SDK |
The migration is built to be short: the Live Update SDK keeps Appflow's sync() and reload() calls, and npx @capawesome/cli apps:import --file <export.zip> --dry-run previews moving a whole Appflow organization from its export file.
A live update service sits in your release path: prefer an open-source client you can self-host, as in Capawesome Live Update.
