Open source. 29 MIT-licensed plugins under @capawesome/ (App Update, Badge, Live Update and more), developed in github.com/capawesome-team/capacitor-plugins (https://github.com/capawesome-team/capacitor-plugins 486 ), plus Firebase 1 plugins under @capacitor-firebase/ and ML Kit plugins under @capacitor-mlkit/, both Apache-2.0.
Insiders. 34 commercial SDKs, including OAuth, Vault (biometric-protected secrets), SQLite 4,756 and Secure Preferences, installed from a license-keyed private npm registry 2,036 : from $99 a month.
Capawesome Cloud. A hosted service for live updates, native builds and store publishing, from $9 a month (Live Updates and CI/CD).
Ionic 20,753 stopped selling Appflow 53,110 , Identity Vault, Auth Connect, Secure Storage and Portals on 11 February 2025; they reach end of life on 31 December 2027, and Appflow takes no new apps from 1 October 2026. On 22 September 2026 Capawesome became the migration partner. The replacements are Capawesome Cloud, whose Live Update SDK keeps Appflow's sync() and reload(), and the OAuth, Vault, SQLite and Secure Preferences plugins (Secure Storage). Capacitor and Ionic Framework stay free and open source.
An @capawesome/ package is as open as a community one, while an Insiders package is a vendor dependency with a subscription and a registry token in your CI.
