cap open

cap open: Launching Android Studio and Xcode

npx cap open android opens android/ in Android Studio 234 , and npx cap open ios opens ios/App in Xcode 10 (macOS only, not run here). Use the IDE to edit native code, manage signing and read filtered Logcat (Native Logs). It does not sync first, so run cap sync before it.

The CLI looks for Android Studio in one default place per system (on macOS, /Applications/Android Studio.app). This chapter's headless Linux machine has none, so the command reports where it looked:

If yours lives elsewhere, export that variable, for example CAPACITOR_ANDROID_STUDIO_PATH=$HOME/android-studio/bin/studio.sh. Building needs no IDE: cap run works without it.
