Gradle Files You Will Touch: build.gradle and variables.gradle

Four Gradle 19,597 files in android/ are yours and two belong to the CLI:

app/build.gradle: application ID, version, build types, signing (Building and Publishing) and your dependencies.
variables.gradle: minSdkVersion (24), compileSdkVersion and targetSdkVersion (36) and the AndroidX 234 versions, as ext properties that plugin modules read too.
The root build.gradle (Android Gradle Plugin 8.13.0 234 ) and settings.gradle.
Generated, headed DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE!: capacitor.settings.gradle includes :capacitor-android and each plugin from node_modules; app/capacitor.build.gradle sets Java 21 and lists the plugin dependencies.

BookNest 1.2.0 raises minSdkVersion to 26 (Android 8.0) in variables.gradle, and in app/build.gradle bumps the version and adds a compile-time constant for its API address:

Since Android Gradle Plugin 8.0, the BuildConfig class that MainActivity reads is generated only when buildFeatures.buildConfig is on.
