World-Space GUI

Attaching 3D GUI Controls to a Mesh in World Space

A control's position and scaling are world-space until control.linkToTransformNode(node); then they are local to that node, and the control follows it like a child, even on a swinging door. Link only after addControl, which creates the control's node, and set a holographic button's content after addControl too, since it builds the default face. The utility layer also picks first, and a hit on a control sets skipOnPointerObservable, so a tap on a 3D button never reaches your scene's onPointerObservable (checked here): Actions and Picking's shelf picking and 3D controls share a canvas without both firing.
