cordova create and the BookNest Project Skeleton

cordova create PATH [ID [NAME]] makes a project folder. The ID, a reverse-domain name, becomes the Android application ID and the iOS bundle ID and cannot change once the app is in a store. The NAME is the label under the launcher icon:

Creating the BookNest project and listing what the CLI generatedShell
cordova create booknest-cordova com.example.booknest BookNest
cd booknest-cordova
tree -a --charset=ascii --noreport
Output
Creating a new cordova project.

www is your web app; config.xml and package.json are the Cordova 129 and npm 2,036 manifests (www, index.html, config.xml and package.json and Icons). The .gitignore excludes platforms/, plugins/ and node_modules/, which the CLI regenerates.

For BookNest, replace the sample files in www with your own: data/books.json, the six books every chapter uses; an index.html with a header (back button, title, cart badge), an empty <main id="view"> and a footer; a stylesheet; and a 39-line js/index.js that, on deviceready, loads the books with fetch() and renders the list, or one book with an Add to cart button. The footer prints cordova.platformId and cordova.platformVersion, so every screenshot shows which platform served it.
