App Store Connect 10 is Apple's Play Console 1 (Play Console Requirements). You create an app record with the bundle identifier, upload a build from Xcode 10 's Organizer or Apple's Transporter app, and fill in the listing, screenshots, privacy policy URL and privacy "nutrition label". Since 28 April 2026, uploads must be built with Xcode 26 or later against an iOS 26 SDK, and since 9 September 2026 they must target iOS 13 or later, which cordova-ios 8's deployment target meets.
Before release, TestFlight 10 sends builds to up to 100 internal and 10,000 external testers for 90 days; the first external build passes a beta review.
Then you submit the version for App Review. Apple states that on average 90% of submissions are reviewed in under 24 hours; you can request an expedited review for a critical bug fix or appeal a rejection to the App Review Board. Two guidelines matter most for a WebView app:
4.2 Minimum Functionality. An app must offer "features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website". A Cordova 129 shell around a live website is the classic rejection. BookNest ships its catalog inside the app, works offline and behaves like an app, which is the right side of the line.
2.5.2 forbids downloading code that "introduces or changes features or functionality". Updating the book list over the network is content; shipping new JavaScript features that bypass review is not.
