Identity. id becomes the Android applicationId and the iOS bundle ID (android-packageName and ios-CFBundleIdentifier override it per platform). version becomes the visible versionName, and cordova-android derives the integer versionCode that Google Play 1 compares as major × 10000 + minor × 100 + patch, so 1.0.0 gives 10000; to control it yourself, add an android-versionCode attribute to <widget> (it is not a preference, and Cordova 129 ignores it as one).
Preferences are name/value pairs read by the platforms and plugins:
| Preference | Effect | Default |
|---|---|---|
| DisallowOverscroll | No glow past the ends of the page | false |
| StatusBarBackgroundColor | Status bar color | Theme color |
| android-minSdkVersion | Oldest Android version supported | 24 (SDK Versions) |
Overrides. Anything inside <platform name="android"> applies to Android only. cordova prepare merges it with the global elements into the platform's own config.xml and drops the iOS block:
cordova prepare android
grep -E "market|preference" platforms/android/app/src/main/res/xml/config.xml <allow-intent href="market:*" />
<preference name="loglevel" value="DEBUG" />
<preference name="DisallowOverscroll" value="true" />
<preference name="StatusBarBackgroundColor" value="#1B5E20" />
<preference name="AndroidWindowSplashScreenBackground" value="#2E7D32" />loglevel is cordova-android's own addition. The status bar color is the easiest change to see:
