A panel slides in from the left or right edge: a navigation drawer or a side sheet of settings. It is a <div class="panel panel-left"> (or panel-right) in the app root, next to the views; panel-cover, panel-reveal, panel-push or panel-floating picks the effect. panel-open links with data-panel=".filter-panel" open it, and panel-close or a backdrop tap closes it. The main options:
swipe: true opens the panel with an edge swipe (off by default);
visibleBreakpoint: 960 keeps it open beside the views on wide screens, the CLI Split View layout of Split View, and collapsedBreakpoint shows it as a narrow strip instead;
panel-resizable lets the user drag its width.
BookNest keeps its tab bar for navigation (Navbar and Tabbar Placement) and uses a right panel for catalog filters. A left panel with a menu list (Contacts, Menus, Tables) suits six or more sections, or a tablet-first app.
